摘要

The changes of the magnetic properties due to neutron irradiation was investigated for the broken Charpy specimens of A508 Class 2 pressure vessel steel weldments which were exposed to irradiation levels of 1.228 x 10~(19) n/cm~2and 3.938 x 10~(19) n/cm~2. Barkhausen noise(BN) and the complex permeability were compared with the mechanical property parameters which were measured by the Vickers micro hardness, tensile and Charpy impact test. The results of different neutron doses showed noticeable fractional changes in the magnetic parameters, correlated with the mechanical properties of these specimens as well. Increasing the neutron dose decreased the BN level, initial permeability, and upper-shelf energy, but increased the hardness and yield strength, as well as. These results show that both the BN and the complex permeability measurements are good indicators of material degradation in reactor pressure vessel(RPV) steel.
