The vibrational levels associated with the Heitlermdash;London potential of H2have been found through use of the firsthyphen;order WBK approximation. The vibrational energiesGas a function of quantum numbervare accurately represented byG=mdash;D0(1mdash;Avmdash;Bv2)n, whereD0is the Heitlermdash;London dissociation energy andA, B,andnare parameters. The Dgr;Gcurve has negative curvature at allv. At highvthe vibrational levels show the rapid convergence characteristic of covalent molecules. The Heitlermdash;London Dgr;Gcurve has very nearly the same shape as the experimental curve for H2; horizontally displaced to agree with experiment at lowv, the Heitlermdash;London Dgr;Gcurve predicts a dissociation energy which is 93 of the experimental value.
