The heat of adsorption of polyacrylic acid (PAA) on aluminasurface was measured in aqueous solution by calvet type twinmicrocalorimeter. The effect of molecular weight of PAA on theadsorption behavior was examined. The heat of adsorption changed fromendothermic to exothermic with decreasing molecular weight at pH 8.On the other hand, the reaction was endothermic for whole molecularweight range of PAA at pH 10.
