The American Apparel Footwear Association (AAFA) has thrown its weight behind others that have been opposing a US move towards instituting anti-dumping actions against Vietnamese textile and apparel products. Following Vietnam's accession to the World Trade Organization in January this year, Washington placed imports of te'xtile and apparel products from that country under a monitoring program to assess if Vietnam, like China, should be subjected to non-tariff import restriction. Subsequently the US Department of Commerce Import Administration began conducting a hearing on the matter.
