This may be the first time you've every seen the word "paradigm" in MetalForming. But, if you'll indulge me here, I promise that in this case, the phrase "paradigm shift" (ugh) applies. And, I can say with reasonable certainty that the phrase will never again appear here.When I look up paradigm in my dictionary, I get nothing like what it has become to mean in today's business environment. Think of a paradigm shift as a change from one way of thinking to another-a revolution, a transformation, a metamorphosis. This change in the way you think doesn't just happen, but rather agents of change drive it. In metalforming, agents of change might be consolidation in the supply chain, or the severe price undercutting on stamping jobs thanks to reverse auctions.
