Core loss measurements on single strips of Allied Corporationrsquo;s METGLAS 2605Shyphen;2 were made using a sinusoidal magnetizing fieldH(t). The contribution to the core loss from the harmonics present in the flux densityB(t) were eliminated numerically by using a digital storage oscilloscope to accumulate theH(t) anddB(t)/dtdata which were then down loaded into an IBM/AT computer, where the numerical analysis was carried out. The measured core losses at 50, 400, and 1000 Hz are in good agreement with those obtained using the more conventional sine flux condition.
