A highhyphen;pressure cylindrical internal reflection cell is designed for use with water and aqueous solutions. The oil separator is a glass pistonhyphen;cylinder type and is placed in the cell. The infrared absorption spectra of water are measured up to 30 MPa. This pressure is three times higher than the previously reported cell.
