This paper describes three laboratory scale installations based onhigh frequency plasma torches to produce and use nanometric sizeceramic powders. Two were used to synthesise Si_3N_4. SiO_2 and SiCfrom SiCl_4 precursor gas and NH_3, O_2 and CH_4 reactive gases. Thelast one was designed for high frequency plasma spraying.
