Nanosized titania powders were prepared via urea-formaldehyderesin formation. Up to 6 moles equivalent of TiCl_3 can besubstituted in the resin structure. Anatase was the first crystallinephase developed in powders calcined at 350℃. The equivalentcrystallite size was 15nm and the respective specific surface areawas 94 m~2/g. Sintering behavior of the prepared powders was followedfor specimens processed under uniaxial press and fired between 1100to 1450℃. Relative density of 95/100 was achieved by uniaxialpressing under 200 Mpa. The measured young's modulus was 242.4 Gpaand the thermal expansion coefficient was 9.24.10~(-6)./℃.Electrical conductivity measurements were also determined.
