Electron spin resonance (ESR) studies have been made on Cu2+ion incorporated into the single crystals of strontium acetate hemihydrate. Only a single set of Cu2+hyperfine lines are observed at all orientations of the magnetic field. From the inconsistency observed between the symmetry of the ESR spectra and the unit cell it is concluded that the Cu2+ion enters the lattice interstitially.
