摘要

Your customer is demanding cost-downs while raising the quality bar to the level of zero defects. These are hot topics in the current economic climate. Maximization of value-added profitability while reducing the number of secondary operations is a major mantra for 2001. As the economy slows, the stamping community has opportunities to integrate as many assembly functions as possible within the original stamping dies. In-die tapping, nut or stud staking, two or more piece assembly and in-die welding are aggressively pursued by forward-thinking, cost-conscious metalformers. Now is the time to revisit plans to streamline the stamping and assembly processes. Now, not later when the economy marches forward full-steam ahead. Now, when employees have time to devote to research, learning curves and the development required for successful integration of secondary operations within dies and other forms of tooling.
