An industrial robot capable of working safely with its human colleagues has been launched by ABB, The dual-armed robot, named YuMi for 'you and me', was unveiled at the Hannover Messe industrial trade show. Although robots are a familiar sight on production lines, until recently they have been kept behind cages or barriers to prevent their heavy arms injuring human co-workers. This has limited the types of tasks they have been able to perform.
