Absolute rate constants for the reaction of OH radicals with allene, 1,3hyphen;butadiene, and 3hyphen;methylhyphen;lhyphen;butene have been determined over the temperature range 299ndash;424thinsp;deg;K, using a flash photolysisndash;resonance fluorescence technique. The Arrhenius expressions obtained werek(allene) =5.59times;10minus;12thinsp;e(305plusmn;300)/RTcm3thinsp;moleculeminus;1thinsp;secminus;1,k(1,3hyphen;butadiene) =1.45times;10minus;11thinsp;e(930plusmn;300)/RTcm3thinsp;moleculeminus;1thinsp;secminus;1,k(3hyphen;methylhyphen;1hyphen;butene) =5.23times;10minus;12thinsp;e(1060plusmn;300)/RTcm3thinsp;moleculeminus;1thinsp;secthinsp;minus;1, with rate constants at room temperature of (9.30plusmn;0.93) times;10minus;12, (6.85plusmn;0.69) times;10minus;11, and (3.10plusmn;0.31) times;10minus;11cm3thinsp;moleculeminus;1thinsp;secminus;1for allene, 1,3hyphen;butadiene, and 3hyphen;methylhyphen;lhyphen;butene, respectively.
