The CH+(Athinsp;1Pgr;minus;Xthinsp;1Sgr;+) emission has been observed from the He++C2H2reaction at thermal energy under low pressure conditions. The nascent vibrational distribution forvprime;=0minus;3 was nearly exponential with a Boltzmann temperature of 2300plusmn;300 K. The nascent rotational temperature varied from 3000plusmn;500 K forvprime;=0 to 2000plusmn;1000 K forvprime;=3. The fractions of the available energy deposited into rotation lang;frrang; and vibration lang;thinsp;fvrang; were evaluated to be 21percnt; and 9percnt;, respectively.
