High cost of production in Denmark is making Trevira Neckelmann, a leading producer of yarn for textiles for the automotive industry, to join the long list of companies moving labour-intensive operations from Denmark to low-cost Eastern Europe. The company told its some 300-strong employees in early October that its manufacturing activities will move to Poland leaving the less labour-intensive operations like RD and sales and customer service, which together employ some 70 people, in the home-base at Silkeborg in central Denmark. The transfer is to be completed in the next 2-3 years.
