The Italian plant manufacturer Danieli has confirmed its interest in acquiring Voest-Alpine Indus-trieanlagenabu (VAI), which belongs to the VA Technology AG group in Linz. In the view of Danieli's Board Chairman Gianpetro Benedetto, a merger of the VA' production in Linz and that of Danieli in Buffrio, Udine (Friuli) could make the most of "considerable synergies" during a phase that is difficult for metallurgical plant engineering.
