The structure of amorphous electrodeposited Cohyphen;P alloy foils has been examined by xhyphen;ray scattering techniques. Samples with phosphorus contents from 18 to 26 at.percnt; have been examined with largehyphen;angle xhyphen;ray scattering. Atomic arrangements in these alloys are described in terms of radial distribution functions. Effects of alloy composition on randomness of shorthyphen;range order, atomichyphen;pair distances, and strength of longhyphen;range order have been observed. Evidence of largehyphen;scale (10ndash;104hyphen;Aring;) composition fluctuations has been obtained from smallhyphen;angle xhyphen;ray scattering on amorphous Co77.5P22.5samples. The composition fluctuation regions are anisotropically shaped (rodlike) with their largest extent (gsim;2000 Aring;) perpendicular to the foil plane and their smallest extent (sim;60 Aring;) in the foil plane.
