Precision Resource Canada Ltd., Cambridge, Ontario, received the 2002 A.R. Hedberg Training and Education Award. The award is sponsored by HPL Stampings, Inc., Lake Zurich, IL, in memory of A.R. (Ray) Hedberg, a leader in employee training. The award includes a 3500 dollars cash prize that will be donated to the University of Waterloo.A wholly owned subsidiary of Precision Resource U.S., the company manufactures custom parts using fineblanking, a hybrid process that combines the features of metal stamping and cold extrusion. Precision Resource Canada requires extensive training for each of its 175 employees; its annual target is 26.5 hours per person. The company uses in-house computer-based training (CBT), instructor-led training and library resources as well a off-site training.
