According to industry regulator Ofcom (the Office of Communications), the overall turnover of the telecommunications services industry (which excludes radio and broadcasting, and telecommunications equipment) grew by 1.5 to UKpound;47,100 million in 2006. Over UKpound;38,600 million was attributable to end-user (retail) spending -the remainder being wholesale services. Growth was concentrated in mobile services, which grew by UKpound;900 million, offsetting the decline in fixed voice market revenues of UKpound;400 million.
