A method for improving the quality of the reconstructed image in space-bandwidth capacity-enhanced (SPACE) digital holography is proposed. SPACE digital holography is based on an off-axis configuration and is a technique for capturing an object wave with wide space-bandwidth product by introducing high spatial-carrier frequency, intentional aliasing, periodicity of a digital signal, and the optimal arrangements of the angle difference and object wave spectrum. In this paper, the severe spectrum attenuation caused by the integral of fine interference fringes in a pixel according to the sinc function is corrected by using spatial frequency analysis. Numerical and experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method. (C) 2014 Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE)
