Rust Shield, a rust and corrosion-fighting formula from Shield Technologies Inc., Toledo, Ohio, can be used on rusted welds, plates, piping and surfaces that are mechanically cleaned prior to painting or coating. When applied to rusty surfaces, Rust Shield deoxidizes rust, leaving a hard coating of iron phosphate, which may be painted or coated.
