Alcan Automotive has described its new automobile industry strategy at an international press conference in Zurich. A turnover of the order of 500 million dollars is planned for 2001. By 2005 Alcan expects to be achieving turnover in the automobile sector of more than a billion dollars. Alcan Automotive has set it self the aim of becoming the preferred partners of major automobile manufacturers such as Ford, General Motors, Daimler Chrysler and Audi, and offering them lightweight construction solutions that will increase the value of the automobile market and make it possible to supply end customers with higher power and the desired safety standards.
