Largr elongations above 300/100 have been attained in Al-Mg alloysowing to high strain rate sensitivity about 0.3. The ductility inAl-Mg alloys is affected strongly by ternary alloying additions, because of forming of particles. It is well known that stressconcentrations may be caused at the particles during deformation atelevated temperature, resulting in development of cavitation.Cavitation reduces the performance of mechanical properties of thedeformed specimens and leads to premature fractufe. Therefore, it isimportant to investigate cavitation characteristics of thesematerials during deformation. In this work, the sizes of theparticles which formed cavities is investigated in Al-Mg alloysexhibiting Class l behavior.
