A year ago,the Paperi ja Puu magazine reported that a development project for form foaming technology will be launched in Finland.In form foaming,very large amounts of air are mixed with the fibre furnish,which facilitates the production of products that are very light and homogeneous and yet strong.At the same time,the consumption of fibre raw material,water and energy is reduced.How far has the project come in a year?"Development has made even faster progress than we expected.Several new projects are under way,each taking the technology a step forward,"explains Janne Poranen Technology Manager at Technical Research Centre of Finland VTT.
