In local currency, revenues generated by the operators themselves rose significantly during 1998 to 2003 inclusive, although much of the increase can be attributed to the high levels of inflation in Venezuela over the period concerned. In US dollar terms, revenues fell during 2002 and 2003 and this was predominantly explained by variations in exchange rates. Revenues picked up again in 2004 in US dollar terms, and grew substantially (over 27) during 2005 and again (32) in 2006.
