The infrared spectra of (SN)xand brominated (SN)xhave been measured down to 60 cmminus;1and compared with the previously reported Raman spectra. Specific vibrational assignments are suggested based on these measurements. The vibrational spectra indicate that in brominated (SN)xthe bromine is located between the (SN)xchains and also in the interfibrillar regions. Both Br2and Br3species appear to be present.
