Impol d.d. in Slovenska Bistrica, Slovenia, is building a new extrusion line with a 55 MN press. The press itself will be delivered by Clecim. Elhaus Industrieanlagen in Rielasingen was awarded the contract for the plant technology ahead of and behind the press. Since the plant is designed for alloys that are difficult to extrude, the peripheral equipment also has to be appropriate for that production range. Heating takes place in a gas fired furnace with lifting beam transport. The axial temperature profile in the billet is produced by four additional heating zones (which can be controlled separately) in the gas fired, rapid-heating unit.
