The thermal behaviors of creatinol phosphate (COP) were carried out with thermogravimetric analysis instruments. The kinetic parameters, including the activation energy and the pre-exponential factor of the decomposition process for COP were calculated through Kissinger and Kissinger-Akahira-Sunose methods, and the thermal decomposition mechanism was also studied with Satava-Sestak method and master plots procedure. The thermal degradation of COP proceeds through more complex and multi-step kinetics. The experimental thermal decomposition data for COP in the range of 0 < alpha < 0.2 can be most probably described with the three-dimensional diffusion model. The results provide basic data to further investigate thermal decomposition characteristics for the application of COP.
