A three-dimensional formulation of Renard et al.'s transversematrix cracking model is used for the analyses of laminated compositestructures containing stress concentrations. This formulation isimplemented in the SAMCEF finite element system by which athree-dimensional modeling permits to fully describe the transversecracking development in laminated composite structures. In order todetermine the material parameters which govern the stiffnessexponential reduction laws assumed by Renard et al., anidentification method based on Laws et al.'s self-consistent model isused.
