The on-line measurement system of plastic deformation and fractureis discussed. The infrared thermo-viewer was used in order to detectthe heat generation and distribution arising from plasticdeformation. Thermal image processing was performed and themacroscopic visualization of stress concentration parts was shown asthe differential thermal images. Furthermore, the comparison betweenthe CCD and thermal images using a thermo-viewer was carried out andgood agreement was obtained.
