According to the metal flow trend, which is deduced from forgingprocess of helical bevel gears with small bevel gear, the pre-formedblanks and enclosed dies have been designed and manufactured. Then,the force-displacement curves are obtained by some plastic formingexperiments of lead work-piece. The metal flow law and the toothfilling process at different sections have been described usingnetwork test. Finally, the deforming characteristics of helical bevelgears during net shape forging have been discussed.
