The fabrication of silicon carbide (SiC)/SiC composite by usingthe radiation-cured preceramic polymer process was studied. Thecontent of the preceramic composite, required absorbed dose, and theother conditions of fabrication were examined. The fracture stress ofthe SiC/SiC composite was obtained 100 MPa by only singleimpregnation of the PCS-benzene slurry contained beta-SiC powder intoSiC fabrics. It was observed that, in the preparation of thepreceramic composites before the irradiation, it is necessary tooptimize conditions of the slurry and elimination of entrapped voids.
