Dienes, with its subsidiaries Neuenkamp and Johann Krumm in Remscheid, specialise in the cutting process. Today, when strips of plastic, paper, textiles or other materials, more and more often aluminium too, have to be slit lengthwise or cut transversely, there is a high probability that Dienes will supply the tools. In this special field the company has acquired first-class know-how and is now regarded worldwide as among the market and technology leaders. Dienes, Neuenkamp and Johann Krumm will be represented at ALUMINIUM 2002. Considering the importance of the work step "longitudinal slitting", it is surprising how little is said about the tools used for this. The importance of the slitting process becomes apparent when it is considered that rolled aluminium not only has to be trimmed at the edges, but must also be produced in the largest possible widths for economic reasons. Modern plants roll strip and foil up to 2200 mm wide or more. For further processing, the rolled width almost always has to be slit into processing widths.
