The pure rotational spectra of seven isotopic species of the chemically unstable symmetric top molecule iodostannane, SnH3I, have been measured in the region 28.3ndash;31.6 GHz, using a microwave spectrometer. Each transitionlpar;Jrarr;Jplus;1rpar;exhibited a complexKstructure due to quadrupole coupling and centrifugal distortion. A quadrupole coupling constanteQqequals;minus;1273plusmn;8thinsp;MHzand centrifugal distortion constantDJKequals;0.0041plusmn;0.0003thinsp;MHzwere obtained from the analysis. Rotational spectra of vibrational excited states were observed for the most abundant isotopic species.
