This book takes the reader, through a series of exercises designed to refine drawing skills. Having established 'base lines' Fernandez instructs, on the elements of style which can make or break a concept communicated through the medium of the sketched form and enlivens mannequins with the features, hairstyles and general poses which could transform the designer's portfolio. The book begins with various shades of grey on white with men's and women's fashion concepts, all oriented to the different moods and contexts of the apparel. Fernandez then proceeds to apply colour noting: 'A good sense of colour is as important to a designer's career as water is to life.'
