The Czech Republic ranks 4th among 133 countries (after New Zealand, Sweden, and Finland) in terms of its environmental performance, according to a 2006 report from the Yale Center for Environmental Law and Policy (2). The report, which was presented at the World Economic Forum in Davos (Switzerland) last February, establishes a new Environmental Performance Index (EPI) and has triggered a serious discussion of environmental quality in the Czech Republic.
