摘要

Russia’s recent rapprochement with the Middle East is gaining momentum, with Russian oil firms eyeing new opportunities in the Middle East, and vice versa. Russian Natural Resources Minister Sergei Donskoi told journalists this week that Mideast investors are actively looking at the country’s “hard-to-recover” reserves and seeking alliances with Russian majors to help them develop those reserves. Companies known to have expressed an interest include the Zapadno-Sibirsky consortium, led by Abu Dhabi’s Mubadala, with Russia’s Gazprom Neft, the Russian Direct Investment Fund and an affiliate of Gazprombank. Late last year, the group lost out to state-controlled Rosneft in the battle for the Nazymsky field in West Siberia.
