ONCE AGAIN Alitalia has run out of cash. Not even a decade haspassed since the 2008 bankruptcy and the merger with AirOne.Only a couple of years have gone by since the rescue by E -had and a €1.75bn recapitalisa on - with a target to create sustainableprofitability by 2017. The latest restructuring plan - designed as usualto bring the carrier to breakeven in two years - gained the nego atedapproval of the unions, but failed a vote from the employees. The airlinehas thrown up its hands, once again filed for special administra on(ie bankruptcy protec on) and been granted a €600m government loanto cover it over the next six months as the administrators prepare it forsale. Will Italy let it fail this me?
