A new combination Chengiopanax sciadophylloides f. albovariegatus (Sugaya) H. Ohashi (Araliaceae) is proposed based on the collection A. Kimura S. Sugaya s.n. (TUS28128).A specimen with white-variegated leaves of Chengiopanax sciadophylloides (Franch. Sav.) C. B. Shang J. Y. Huang wasreported by Sugaya (195^; as Acanthopanax sciadophylloides Franch. Sav. from Aomori Pref" northernmost Honshu. There are three type specimens collected in 1952 in TUS, of which all the leaves are variegated as shown in case of the holotype (Fig.1).Thisdeciduous plant had produced variegated leaves through three years (Sugaya 1955).
