A variety of 2-substiuted 4-methylenetetrahydropyrans are easily produced by the reaaction of acetals with trimethyl{2-2-(trimethylsiloxy0ethylallyl}silane under the influence of a catalytic amount of tin(II) trifluoromethane-sulfonate.
