摘要

Plastic materials which have light weight and good formability are used as sliding materials such as gears and bearings, but they are inferior in heat resistance and mechanical strength. Therefore, engineering plastics which are superior in these characteristics are recently developed, and PPS (Polyphenylene Sulfide) resin which has high heat resistance, chemical resistance, good dimensional stability, formability and mechanical strength is one of remarkable materials. When PPS resin is used as sliding material, a study on the frictional properties and the fatigue properties under the rolling-sliding condition are important. This paper reports the frictional property and fatigue under the rolling-sliding condition for no filling PPS, pitch carbon fiber reinforced PPS and PAN carbon fiber reinforced PPS. The friction tests of PPS with different fiber weight contents were carried out against SUJ2 without a lubricant. Comparing PAN carbon fiber reinforced PPS with pitch carbon fiber reinforced PPS, the former is superior in the fatigue property, and the latter is superior in the decrease of the coefficient of rolling-sliding friction.
