The UK's BG said it has discovered light oil in the subsalt Santos Basin offshore Brazil. The Iguacu well in Block BM-S-9 proved the presence of an accumulation of light oil around about 16,076 feet. Brazil's Petrobras is the operator of the block and holds a 45% stake. BG holds a 30% stake and Repsol YPF has the remaining 25%.
