The House Government Reform Committee June 8 approved legislation to promote the use of "plain language" in federal regulations and other statements published by executive branch agencies.Sponsored by Rep.Candice Miller (R-Mich.),the Regulation in Plain Language Act (H.R.4890) would require government agencies to use "language that is clear and readily understandable to the intended reader" when issuing regulations for publication in the Federal Register.
