How exactly do you apply design thinking and, most importantly, what does it mean to you? 3M's Ben Watson CEng CTPD CEnv MIED grasps these thorny and complex questions, and comes up with some intriguing and challenging insights Leveraging the expertise of engineering design professionals beyond the traditional domain of engineering design is not all that new. Whilst it may not always be at the forefront of conscious awareness, the real value of design thinking comes about when we are able to articulate what it is for ourselves, what it is not and how it can then be nurtured as a source of competitive advantage.
