ITT and Sierra Nevada awarded numerous contract awards for JCREW 2.1 and 3.1 versions. Production expected to remain steady until introduction of planned next spiral development phase called 3.3. U.S. Navy in October 2009 awarded contracts to ITT and Northrop Grumman for design, development, integration, and testing of the JCREW Spiral 3.3 system of systems program. The Joint Counter Radio-Controlled Improvised Explosive Device (RCIED) Electronic Warfare (JCREW) jammer is being produced under an emergency U.S. Department of Defense program to procure systems to protect U.S. vehicles in Iraq and Afghanistan. Spiral 2.1 and 3.1 are the latest iteration of the jammers to be produced. The U.S. is currently working to develop a Spiral 3.3.
