ON 16 January, in response to customers' requirements, Interconnector (UK) Ltd (IUK) changed the direction of gas flow in its Interconnector pipeline between Bacton (UK) and Zeebrugge (Belgium) from importing into UK to exporting to Europe. The direction of gas flow through the Interconnector is a function of market demand: the pipeline system responds to nominated volumes and flow direction from its customers (or gas shippers). The duration of flow in this new direction will also be subject to market demand and subsequent nominations.
