Eurobanan's marketing manager Ramon Rey tells Trade Spain how the company's continued growth paints a positive future for the importer-distributor. What were the highlights of 2008 for the Eurobanan group? RR: In the last year, Eurobanan bought a 4,000m~2 cold storage facility at the Barcelona wholesale market (Mercabarna). In terms of new acquisitions, this move is probably the company's greatest success in 2008, particularly considering that our sales grew by more than 15 per cent in the region ofCataluna as a result. That said, it's likely that we will also revamp the old facilities adjacent to the cold store in order to further expand storage and distribution capacity.
