Spain's prospects for high-end, niche exports to Asia are looking up as the euro and US dollar go down, reveal leading importers. Spain's current presence in Asian fresh produce markets is still largely one of spot supply, but as different products test the water in the region, several are finding niches that could prove quite profitable. The potential for business in Asia is also looking good at the moment due to the weaker euro and US dollar, which is making Spanish products cheaper for traders working with Asia's relatively buoyant currencies. "Yes, the weaker euro will make Spanish imports a more attractive option," explains Joe Tan of Singaporean importer-wholesaler Ban Choon Marketing.
