A study into factors that affect the fortunes of more than a hundred European producer organisations is to be published at an international congress in Vienna later this month. Producer organisations in the European Union base their success on a number of key factors, says a new report whose findings will be presented to an industry conference in Austria at the end of January. "The results of our survey reveal some significant differences between regions and recognition categories of producer organisations (PQs), allowing for some very interesting conclusions and for some detailed information about the influence of certain factors on the success of POs," says Wolfgang Braunstein, chief executive of agricultural consultancy Gesellschaft fur Absatzforderung (GFA), the organisation which conducted the research.
