Romania's state-owned Romgaz will start production from the recent Caragele onshore gas discovery in 2019, according to the government. The Caragele field lies in the central county of Buzau and has an estimated 25-27 Bcm (882.5- 953.1 Bcf) of gas, which makes it Romania's largest discovery in 30 years. The reserves are equivalent to three years of gas consumption for Romania.
